Our Children are the Future

Running a non-profit organization is not easy, but watching our children battle with the streets of Chicago is even harder. They need resources. They need opportunities. So we work hard for them so they are prepared for the real world.

Nina Robinson-Stewart

Welcome to the newest edition of the Future CEO Business Academy quarterly newsletter. Words cannot express how grateful I am to be given an opportunity to serve upper-class high school in Chicago and the surrounding suburbs. My love for children and my passion for helping them succeed is the reason I followed my dreams and started this organization. At the tender age of 16, while attending Percy L. Julian High School, I was chosen and accepted into a program through Shell Oil, the Shell Youth Training Academy.

This program impacted my life tremendously. This program taught me valuable skills needed for corporate America, which I refer to as the “Real World”. The program also provided students with job internships for a semester. I was fortunate to be to complete my internship at Hartman Publishing, also known as N’DIGO, one of Chicago’s largest African American newspapers. This opportunity flourished into a ten year career which I am forever grateful.

I was deeply saddened when I learned that the Shell Youth Training Academy was no longer operating in Chicago. I cant help but to think of all the children who are missing out on such a wonderful opportunity. Currently, business programs for are children are becoming more and more obsolete in our communities. I knew I had to do something. I want to be able to give as many students as possible a chance of learning the fundamentals of the “real world” and experiencing first hand that tools are necessary for success. This program will not only give students the motivation to finish school to achieve their career goals, we are also challenging students to take charge of their future’s by assisting them in

becoming CEO’s.

I am so honored to present to you the Future CEO Business Academy, Inc.. The mission of our nonprofit organization is to create an innovative, proactive approach to help young people bridge the gap between education and business. Our program will not only create jobs and businesses, it will also

prepare students for successful and professional careers at the completion of their education. As with any non-profit organization, our success depends on our supporters. This is only the beginning. We are working hard to secure funding to help give our children the opportunity of a lifetime. I hope you believe in our vision as strongly as we do and we can count on your support.
